| Sumitomo Electric Networks and Sumitomo Electric Industries have jointly developed a GE-PON device"MegaBit Gear FSU6200" and a subscriber's terminal "MegaBit Gear FTE6050" that provides data transfer rates of maximum 1 Gbps and divides the fiber into maximum 32 households to allow them to share the fiber optics and started the sale to carriers in December, 2004. |
